Training in order to make it through an endurance event is a given. To come to The Iron having not adequately prepared is not only unwise, but foolish. Like the old adage goes, Fail to prepare, and you prepare to fail.

But what if your training isn't for a spike, skull, patch or other trinket? What if it's a case of saving your life. What if your job relied on you staying in such a state of physical and mental readiness, that if you didn't, you run the very real risk of actually dying?

Kyoul Cha knows what this means. Having worked as an elite "Hotshot" firefighter, training wasn't just to stay in shape. It was to stay alive. SISU:RADIO is a part of the Athlete On Fire Network.

Steve and Maria Siguaw continue their voyage around the world and end up in the pristine islands of French Polynesia.  Stories of cannibalism and the dynamics of the rally are in the forefront.  Things are still pretty tame but they are approaching Australia soon and soon after things get a little wild. Enjoy the show!

The expressions "run like a girl" or perhaps "lift like a girl" are flawed for many reasons. Take, for example, Team Cornfed head honcho Andé Wegner .

With multiple endurance events - not least of which includes two Death Races - under her belt, to be able to even keep pace with, let alone beat Andé would be an achievement. If running or lifting like a girl means to be on the same level as the veterinarian from Bradley, Illinois, then that would be no bad thing.

Dre Baldwin followed his passion against conventional wisdom.  He had to prove he could play with the best so that's what he did.  He played professional basketball for 9 years and became the first video content creator for "how-to" training in any sport when he got into YouTube by accident in 2006.  He is a speaker, author, coach, and athlete and this show will have you following him as a fan once it is over. Enjoy this episode of Athlete On Fire.

If you've ever done a Goruck in Texas or been at the Death Race, there's a very high probability that you have met or at least seen Patrick Mies II in action.

Welder by day, fan of weight and misery by night, he's a man with an unnerving fascination with seeking out discomfort and becoming friends with it. As such, here at Team SISU, we felt the The Iron would be the perfect opportunity for him to share experiences, values and just a little bit of the misery with those who will take part in the 2016 event. With a wealth of experience from various endurance events to draw upon, the staff at Team SISU is looking forward to watching him bring his mustache and misery to the next Iron.

In this episode, our host Cookie talks to the Texan about training, nutrition, how to survive long endurance events and what to expect at the SISU Iron 2016.  SISU: RADIO is a part of the Athlete On Fire Network.
