Our guest is a world renowned author and alpinist with a different take on a similar story of adventure on the tops of the biggest mountains in the world.  We talk about what it takes to up and leave and live in a foreign country.  Why training plans don't always work and what is next for her and her adventure.  She gives a great physical challenge and is a thoughtful and passionate athlete.  We think she bridged the gap pretty well.

All too often people find themselves in an unfulfilling cycle. Get up, go to work, stare at the clock, go home...with no sense of purpose, no sense of pride, and maybe no sense of your impact on the world at large.

I, and many like me, spend our days differently. We wake up high on life, swipe a keyfob at the door, and walk into a world where we can help people make lasting, positive change in their lives.

Today I want to talk about where I work, what I do, and why, no matter how hard some days might be... I love it every damn day. Today you find out what it means to #BleedPurple.

And in a shocking turn of events...Megan beats Darrell in a race! All this and more in episode 5!

Our guest is a former NFL athlete and foster child.  The numbers were not in his favor but he found the drive to figure it all out.  This show is about that process and how you can learn from it in your situation.  He is currently a speaker, coach, and consultant and we see why during this episode!

Our guest has been in the world of OCR since it started, quite literally.  She competed in the first ever Spartan race and her life hasn't been the same since. Now, she reports on all things OCR as the Editor in Chief for Mud Run Guide and continues to grow her Dirt I Your Skirt brand for a resource for amazing women everywhere.  We settle in to talk about anything and everything about starting a podcast, how we always evolve as athletes, and her time unplugged in the Adirondacks.  Enjoy the show!

Our guest has been training all of his life for sport.  When it was time to transition from Biathlon to OCR, he had no problem.  His story is pretty similar to many OCR athletes as far as how he found the sport.  He talks training and about his journey on this episode.

Karlyn is in the swimming Hall Of Fame but her journey was not a straight line by any means.  Tons of early success in the sport as well as an unstable home and early drinking led to an interesting route.  Dropping out of college and binge drinking for more than ten years led to an intervention that turned it around at 31.  She enrolled in college and to swim at age 35.  Her story is about what it means to get a "Do Over", and, that it's never to late to start what you were meant to do.  Enjoy the show.

Our guest spent most of his childhood not really happy where he was physically.  Then came college and the drinking and eating at a school known for partying.  His story has been told before and this is the first time.  It could be you.  We hope his story moves you to make a change of your own!  Athlete On Fire brings stories to inspire and teach athletes and remember, everyone is an athlete!
